Jamiila has been teaching bellydance since 1997 and has taught students of all ages, from 5 - 95. Her style of teaching allows for all types of learning styles and thorough breakdown and review of movements creates a strong foundation on which the individual expression of each budding dancer can develop. A strong focus is placed on dancing from within rather than just mechanically moving to the music although attention is certainly paid to perfecting proper technique. Her sense of humour and easy going demeanor make for a fun and exciting learning environment.
Jamiila has seen women from all walks of life, who have come to embrace this ancient dance, discover amazing aspects of themselves they never knew existed! What will you discover?

WORKSHOPS & SPECIALTY CLASSES
Jamiila is available for workshops and performances in and around the Lower Mainland and parts of the BC Interior.
In addition to performances, workshops are great entertainment for various special events, festivals, community, school events and even a great way to lighten the mood in the workplace.
Specialty Classes available are:
Corporate lunch hour classes- clear out that board (bored) room...it's time to cut loose. It's a great team bonding exercise!
Bellydancing for couples-Open up and re-connect on a totally new level with your partner!
Post-natal BabyBelly classes- Babies LOVE the music and the movements will sooth and nurture the newborn.
Seniors Bellycize class- Adapted to individual ability and fitness levels, this dance class is sure to be a blast.
Bachelorette/Bridal Shower Parties- First a demonstration, and then a breakdown of the movements and then we create a dance to remember. The bride-to-be gets a souvenir coin belt and/or veil to take on the honeymoon!
